FREE TIME. Sassetta offers interesting distractions for the lovers of nature, quietness and landscapes. You can make interesting excursions in our woods and peaceful places that are perfect for observing vegetation and wildlife. The hunting traditions are old and rich, and today it is still possible to spend time hunting and picking mushrooms and chestnuts. It is also possible to visit the nearby Baratti and Populonia Etruscan necropolis, the medieval Rock of San Silvestro in the Commune of Campiglia, the Park of Montioni, the historic centres of Volterra and Larderello and the geothermical plants of Larderello.

TREKKING. To make the excursions in our woods easier, and to enjoy better our landscape and our natural environment, we have laid out some carefully signaled and easily walkable trekking courses that can be explored either on foot, riding or by mountain-bike. Along the courses you will find old restored fountains, well equipped rest areas, old "driers" remodeled and made useable for stops and "pic-nics". In the courses system there is also a footpath that runs entirely through the woods, and that can be used by disabled people so as to give everybody, even those with limited mobility. the chance of enjoying our natural beauties.
